Medical Family Tree
A medical family tree is a DIFFERENT type of family tree, researched to uncover clues to possible medical problems in your family history.
You may have noticed that some branches of your tree seem to live longer than others, or there is a hint of recurrence of medical conditions. In cases like these, researching a medical family tree can uncover potential pointers to watch out for in your own health. I uncovered late onset type 2 diabetes in my father's line, simply by purchasing a death certificate.
When undertaking this type of family tree research you will need to buy copies of many death certificates. This can make your family tree research project more expensive, but without a doubt worthwhile!

Packages
- Tracing genealogy lines through to 3 x great grandparents (where records allow). All packages include a family book report which can be individually designed to clients requirements, including indexes of places, names, occupations and anniversaries. The report (and some of the chart options available) can include your descendants - perfect for an heirloom project.
When you order your family history package, we will aim to trace your direct ancestors back to the generation of your great-great-great grandparents. We will let you know if there is scope to continue tracing your family tree further back in time, once the research is complete. Any further work is optional, and is charged by the hour.
Please note that packages include your siblings if you provide their details, your ancestors and your ancestors siblings. For a further charge we can trace descendants of your siblings, your cousins, or those of your ancestors siblings.
Package 1: Bronze £400
We will trace your direct ancestry back through ONE grandparent of your choice. Our professional genealogist will trace your family tree as far back as up to eight surname lines.
Package 2: Silver £700
We will trace your direct ancestry back through TWO grandparents of your choice. Our professional genealogist will trace your family tree as far back as up to sixteen surname lines.
Package 3: Gold £900
We will trace your direct ancestry back through THREE grandparents of your choice. Our professional genealogist will trace your family tree as far back as up to twenty-four surname lines.
Package 4: Platinum £1200
This is our most popular and comprehensive genealogy product. We will trace your entire genealogy back through all FOUR grandparents. With this package our professional genealogist will trace your family tree as far back as up to thirty-two surname lines. This includes chart production for a printed chart on heavy paper. For a small extra charge we can print on canvas, satin photo or parchment effect card
If you would like to have research completed which does not go as far back as 3 x great grandparents, this can be arranged for a lower price. Please contact us for a quote
Birth Brief (Pedigree Chart)
Unlike a Family Tree Chart, which essentially is the instrument by which the lineage of one particular lineal family is documented, a Birth Brief or Pedigree Chart documents only the direct ancestors of an individual. In other words, a birth brief or a pedigree chart will perhaps commence with a brief record of oneself, then a similar record of each of your parents followed by similar information for each of your four grandparents, followed by each of your eight great grandparents and then your sixteen great great grandparents and so on.
The research involved in searching out your direct ancestors is much the same as the research required for the research of one family or one surname back through time. The only difference is that research of multiple lines is undertaken without too much reference being made at this stage to the siblings of your direct ancestors unless of course researching a sibling might assist in uncovering information about the direct ancestor.
The research fees for following the multiple direct family lines for a birth brief chart to be compiled are much the same as for the research of one family line or one surname and such research can either be conducted as a Research Project or on an Hourly Rate basis the fees for which are located on Our Fees page.

Hourly Bespoke Family Tree Research by a Professional Genealogist
Clients sometimes need help with more specific areas of their family history research, which is where our PAYG service applies. Maybe a grandparent passed down a family story and you want to know more about what happened? Perhaps you need help with a “brick wall”? We have access to old Parish Records
extending research centuries before 1837.
Perhaps you have a tree but are unsure if it is accurate. We can check it through for you
We have access to millions of genealogical records, and have the skills to interpret them.
You can commission our family history research services in blocks as below. At the end of each block we provide a report outlining our findings. If you would like a detailed tree chart, we can create that too.
We keep all research on file so clients can request further work to extend chosen lines, or one of our packages. Sometimes these lines can be traced back many more generations.
Sometimes work is focused not on people, but houses, and we can trace the occupants of a house using census records. We can also take photographs of buildings, as well as gravestones.
From £130 for four hours. The higher the number of hours, the lower the hourly rate.
